01 · Why you may have heard from us

A real signal. One simple question.

Second Rail monitors fresh public commercial-filing activity. A filing never proves that money is still owed; it gives us a respectful reason to ask whether the problem was resolved.

01

A recent commercial filing

Current enough to be relevant, never treated as proof of an open balance.

02

“Did you get paid?”

No report link, no assumption and no generic collections pitch.

03

A quick fit check

If money is still outstanding, the intake desk checks whether the account qualifies before anyone asks you to assemble a full file.

Our rule: public records start the conversation. Your answer is the source of truth.

02 · The difference

The bigger lever: someone can go in person.

Calls and letters still have a place. But the recovery team is not limited to another remote follow-up cycle. When the account, location and circumstances support it, an experienced field representative can pursue the debtor in person. That is the core difference—and why the recovery opportunity can be stronger on accounts that stalled elsewhere.

Field collection is the differentiatorSuitable accounts can be pursued face-to-face instead of being recycled through calls and letters alone.

Plain answers

Before you place anything.

What kinds of accounts can you review?

Documented commercial accounts owed by U.S. businesses to U.S. businesses. The last invoice should generally be within two years, and each debtor should usually owe at least $1,000.

What if an attorney or collection agency already tried?

Tell the desk. Second placements are a core use case. The placement team will review the present status and determine whether the file can be accepted. We will not advise you to terminate another engagement.

Do you actually go in person?

In-person field contact can be part of the recovery strategy when the account, location and circumstances support it. It is not automatic, but it means suitable files are not limited to another cycle of calls and letters.

What does it cost?

There is no upfront fee. Collection is contingency-based, so the rate comes from recovered money. The percentage depends on the age and status of the account and is confirmed before authorization.

Who actually handles the account?

Second Rail handles intake and qualification. Commercial collection services are performed through Deal Enforcer and its collection partner under a separate placement agreement.

Do you guarantee collection?

No. Recovery and timing depend on the debtor, documents and circumstances. The desk can confirm fit; it cannot promise an outcome or provide legal advice.
